1 Who owns this

Origae (ABN 21 237 258 402) owns the copyright in CattleScale, the iOS app, this website and the materials on them.

ORIGAE is a business name registered to the sole trader who operates CattleScale. You can confirm who holds it by looking up the ABN on the Australian Business Register (abr.business.gov.au). The postal address is Suite 329, 98-100 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne VIC 3000, Australia. Email support@cattlescale.app.

2 Copyright

Copyright protects the original text, photographs, graphics, software (source and object code), the printed ruler sheet, the report layout and the selection and arrangement of this website. It does not protect a method, an idea, a fact or a number. Your own photographs and the weights you type in stay yours, as section 5 of the terms of service says.

Some material is used under licence from someone else, including photographs credited on the blog and market indicators published by Meat & Livestock Australia. That material stays the property of the person who supplied it.

3 Trade marks

CattleScale, Origae and the CattleScale cow head logo are trade marks of Origae. Please do not use them in a way that suggests we made, sponsor or endorse something we did not.

4 What you may do

You may view the public pages, share a link, and quote a short passage with credit and a link back, for example in a news article or a review. You may print a page for your own reading.

Anything more, including copying a page onto your own site, needs written permission from support@cattlescale.app. Using the app is covered by section 8 of the terms of service, not by this page.

5 What you may not do

You must not, unless the law allows it or we agree in writing:

1. copy, reproduce or republish material from this website or the app, except for a short quotation with credit;
2. use bots, scripts or other automated means to access the app or its API, or to copy material from them, other than through the app itself;
3. use the app or its API to train, fine-tune or otherwise develop a machine learning model;
4. copy, frame or mirror the app or the website, or present them as your own;
5. remove or alter any copyright, trade mark or other notice;
6. register or use a trade mark, business name or domain name that is likely to be confused with CattleScale or Origae;
7. pass off your goods or services as ours, or suggest we endorse them when we do not.

6 Confidential material

The prompts, model instructions, calibration constants and source code behind CattleScale are confidential and are not published. The general method, a published girth and length formula and breed averages, is described in section 4 of the terms of service so you can judge the estimate. You must not try to extract the confidential parts from the app, the API or a report, except to the extent the law allows regardless of this clause.

7 If you think we have used your work

If you believe material on this website infringes your copyright, email support@cattlescale.app with the page address, a description of the work, and your contact details. We will look at it and take down material that should not be there.

8 Your photographs and weights

You keep any rights you have in the photographs you take and the weights you type in. We do not claim them. Section 5 of the terms of service sets out the limited licence you give us to produce your assessment and, if you choose to enter a scale weight, to keep it and use it to improve the estimate.

9 Fair dealing and the Australian Consumer Law

Nothing on this page limits a right you have under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth), including fair dealing for research, criticism, review or reporting the news, or under the Australian Consumer Law. Where this page and those laws disagree, those laws win.

10 Enforcement

If someone infringes our copyright or breaches the terms of service, we may suspend their access to the Service, seek an injunction, and claim damages or an account of profits where the law provides one. This page is governed by the law of Victoria, Australia.
